Meet the Minds Behind IFL

Tamim Asey

Founding Partner and CEO
Tamim Asey is the Founding Partner and CEO of two non-profit tech start ups: Intelligence Fusion Lab and the Digital Defense Initiative (DDI). Intelligence Fusion Lab explores the cooperation, competition, and conflict between human and machine intelligence, focusing on the evolving relationship between carbon-based and silicon-based cognition. DDI specializes in digital authoritarianism, AI and terrorism, surveillance systems, and digital civil defense. He is also host of the Podcast: Geopulse: Guns – Gadgets – Genes – Germs. He is affiliated with the Institute of War and Peace Studies (IWPS) and serves as a Senior Visiting Fellow at King’s College London. A graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), Mr. Asey formerly held senior roles in the Government of Afghanistan, including Deputy Minister for Policy and Strategy at the Ministry of Defense, and Director General for Policy and International Relations at the Office of the National Security Council.
